We've been returning to Papavero for several times now because that duck is just amazing! Tender, juicy, served with delicious sides – you can't help but love it. On top of that, the great atmosphere and friendly service make every visit pure pleasure. If you're looking for a place with good food and a nice ambiance – we highly recommend it!
The restaurant where we placed high hopes. Undeterred by negative reviews, we chose it for an important evening with our loved ones. The ban on entry with children, contrary to others' outrage, we see as an asset – not every place is suitable for minors, especially elegant ones. Back to the point, unfortunately, something was missing here. The strongest point of our dinner was the very tender, perfectly flavored octopus, aromatic venison roast, and delicate, juicy sturgeon. I must also praise the escargots, which I tasted for the first time and they were to my liking. We also appreciate the polite and very professional service and elegant decor. However, that’s where the positives end. The venison tartare, despite its spectacular presentation, was rather average in taste, and hard to discern it was made from deer. The weakest link of the dinner was the wild boar chop, which was unfortunately dry and simply tasteless, leaving an unpleasant aftertaste. Overall, it wasn’t a bad dinner, but our expectations led to a slight disappointment.
Papavero is already a classic on Poznań's gastronomic map. One of the few restaurants with a long-standing tradition that consistently maintains a very high level of flavor in the dishes served and a fine dining character. The cuisine itself leans towards the classic with a touch of Greater Polish or Poznań flavors. It's worth choosing this place for a romantic dinner or gathering with a larger group while celebrating an important occasion; the lunch offer is also ideal for business meetings. The male waiters are very professional, and the staff has been stable since I remember. The service here is the quintessence of waiting tables with a capital K. There are fewer and fewer places with such a professional approach to guests. When you come here, you can really feel welcomed and taken care of.
Charming restaurant. Clean and cozy. Service at the highest level. Dishes are served like jewelry. Their taste is exquisite. I recommend it to those who want their meeting to be memorable.
A beautiful place, very elegant, with exceptional food and service. The gentlemen working in the dining room are professionals in every aspect of the art of waiting. I recommend it for family gatherings, dates, or business meetings. Any occasion is good to go there for duck, seafood, or an excellent tenderloin steak. P.S. The best carpaccio I've ever had.
Very cozy, quiet place. Short menu. The dishes are seemingly exquisite but have a somewhat homey taste: tartare, carpaccio, broth, halibut, steak, chicken breast, duck... though always slightly enhanced by the choice of meat type or sides, like a schnitzel made from wild boar and polenta fries, etc. A touch of culinary fantasy ;) The dishes are very decent, and even for a Michelin-recommended restaurant, the portions are quite large. But with the recommendation comes a high price, so be prepared. Definitely slow food and a tasting experience rather than a quick lunch in a hurry. Set aside some time. City center, city parking on the street.
We have been guests of the restaurant for many years, and it is strange that we have not left a review until now. It has never disappointed us in terms of the quality of dishes, service, presentation, and subdued music. This time was no different. The vegan dish, a celery steak, was exquisite, and the halibut was, as always, a feast for the senses. In the flood of constantly new restaurants appearing in Poznań, we always return to Papavero with great pleasure.
A very elegant place, unfortunately nothing truly impressed with taste. The quality of the ingredients is undoubtedly high, the waiters are charming and professional, but overall something was missing :/
I chose Papavero for a family celebration of a birthday. 5 out of 6 people were completely satisfied with the tastes of the served dishes. The spring menu – dishes with asparagus – is an interesting addition with tasty offerings. We were nicely served, the waiters were helpful while being almost unnoticed as they cleared the table.
Delicious dishes, beautifully presented, it was a feast for the eyes and the palate. Highly recommend!
