'Overrated café, known probably only for serving something different from everyone else, and that's where the positives end? The 'pancakes' dorayaki with vanilla cream tasted good, but the pancake was overcooked, so it was dry and really 'soggy' despite the cream. Dango was OK, nothing spectacular. The daifuku in the form of a berry 'cheesecake' was great. But surprisingly, the weakest point was the coffee. Classic siphon coffee, very heavily roasted. According to the menu, the siphon was supposed to bring out nutty and chocolatey flavors, but it tasted like regular strong black coffee without any flair. It tasted just like average supermarket coffee with no character. Really, for 16-17 PLN, you can get something much better to drink in any specialty café, where the beans aren't burnt to a crisp. On the plus side, friendly service and a nice atmosphere. And please fix the door because it slams so hard that it could give you a heart attack every time. A simple door closer costs 100 PLN...'
'The best matcha I've ever had, both hot and cold. A big plus is the staff, who know their products well and are happy to advise what to try, what is suitable for takeout, and what is better to eat on-site. Despite the crowds, you don’t wait long for your order. The place may be atmospheric, but a huge downside is the small number of seats. The café itself isn't particularly marked, so finding it without knowing the area is surprisingly not that easy. The unusual sweets turned out to be very tasty, but this is not something that everyone will like, so it's worth considering this when going there.'
'I get the impression that the place is a victim of its own success, becoming unfriendly to customers. Saturday, 15 minutes after opening, a line at the door. Inside - lots of people at the kneeling table, a couple of people sitting on the stairs, and a large part of the place is taken up by a table without chairs with some knick-knacks. Unfortunately, people with health/mobility issues have limited chances to sit there (and the entrance is only accessible via stairs). Additionally, inside it’s very hot due to the crowd, and the incense adds a smell that I personally did not like. So we have a picture of a crowded place with no seating and a less pleasant atmosphere. On the plus side - nice sweets and drinks, and plenty of staff, but still, you need to stand in line.'
'As I write this review, I’m still in the café – I am absolutely thrilled. I never liked matcha, but here the pasta and lemonade made from it are absolutely DELICIOUS. The desserts were beautiful and incredibly tasty. I highly recommend it!!'
'A specific place. The Japanese simplicity of the interior is compelling, but there are also a few bar stools. The incense is not overwhelming. The good sweets are completely different from those known from European cafes. Very friendly staff. It’s worth stopping by, even though the entrance and the café doors can be off-putting.'
'Since Happa opened in Warsaw, the quality of service has greatly declined and continues to decline. I have been a frequent visitor, but you’ve left your first café in Poznań to people who don’t approach it with heart and passion. Shota, Marcin, since the café opened in Warsaw, you hardly visit Happa in Poznań, and if you do, it’s only for a moment. This place used to have a vibe, where one could talk about matcha, learn something, and get advice. Now the service feels like it’s at a supermarket checkout, and it just seems to be money focused, making you feel like 'another receipt.' It’s disappointing because we used to enjoy going there because of your passion for matcha and the atmosphere you built. Additionally, the approach of having certain products in Warsaw and not in Poznań is unfair to the place where it all started. It’s great that you are expanding, and the quality remains good, but slowly this place is becoming more of a 'take away' than an experience like it used to be.'
' We were there for the first time and were a bit unsure whether behind those curtains is the entrance for guests or for staff. It wasn't clear to us, it would be nice if this was communicated better, especially to new customers.nn The café makes an impression, it is spacious, and one can see that it tries to create a certain atmosphere. The dishes are simply beautiful ☺ The menu is mega aesthetic, everything is nicely and clearly described.nn The young lady serving that day (Saturday, December 7) was very accessible, friendly, and polite. Zero complaints nn The number of seats compared to the size of the café is very small. Sitting on the stairs during Polish autumn/winter, where there is often slush and snow, is uncomfortable, as is putting jackets and scarves on the floor. Additionally, there is a big, as we found out, historic table in the middle that takes up precious space because it is not usable. If this table is such an important and possibly sentimental element, it would be worth considering reorganizing.nn The matcha and coffee are very mediocre. Nothing groundbreaking nor is the price particularly scandalous. After leaving, some members of our group didn’t remember the taste, while others wanted to get rid of the grassy and fishy aftertaste as quickly as possible. Something seems off here, and it’s worth noting that this was not our first matcha experience. We will not return here, unfortunately.nnOverall - I don’t understand the phenomenon of this café.nnPS. The photo was taken before we found out that it was out of service.'
'Happa to Mame is a unique place that enchanted me from the very first moment. The decor is stunning and creates an amazing, intimate atmosphere.nnThe drinks served are perfection, and the mochi is a true feast for the taste buds – delicate and not too sweet, perfect for lovers of subtle flavors. ❤️nnThe service is exceptionally friendly nnAn additional advantage is the available Japanese magazines to browse through, and the ability to observe the tea brewing process makes your stay at this café even more special. nnThis is a place definitely worth visiting to feel a piece of Japan in the heart of the city. '
'Very organized service, beautiful decor, you can feel a good mood in the air thanks to the working ladies, customers, and the scent of incense. The prices are even too low compared to the quality, but the lines definitely explain why it’s worth coming here. 10 minutes after opening, I was in a 30-minute line, but the food and drinks are definitely worth the wait.'
'Simply delicious! In Poznań, this café impressed me the most. Unusual decor, friendly service, but above all, incredible food and beverages. Everything is so refined, gently tickling your taste buds. One relaxes and feels transported to another dimension while dining in this place ;) I highly recommend it and will happily visit again!'
