In my opinion, unfortunately, it was style over substance. The food disappointed us a bit. The chicken pasta was tasty - a large portion, but it lacked something to refresh and balance the flavors (like cherry tomatoes). I do not recommend the brownie, a rather weak chocolate block despite being beautifully presented. The beef tartare was average/quite specific, although there are probably supporters of such flavors. I also tried the cheesecake, which is definitely worth recommending. We were there with a Finebite reservation, but looking at an ordinary customer - I think the price in general isn’t appropriate for the quality of the flavor of the dishes, even considering the location.nnThe interior is very beautiful, well-designed, and atmospheric. The lady who served us was nice, so the service was also a plus. However, I won’t visit this place again.
Everything about the food was fine, and the atmosphere in the restaurant is definitely a plus. A good place for breakfast in Poznań, close to the Goats . The only issue was that 3 waiters couldn’t keep up with cleaning the tables. Guests were sitting at dirty tables that were only cleaned afterwards. The wait for coffee was about 10 minutes, which is okay.
Amazing food! Dumplings with cottage cheese were something wonderful great atmosphere in the heart of Poznań. The cheesecake is the best we have ever had, and the waitress Kalina was a lovely and friendly woman! We recommend it wholeheartedly
DISASTER, a waste of money and time above all. We ordered soups and waited nearly 40 minutes; the table next to us ordered main dishes and got them after 20 minutes. The diluted 'zurek' was made from a packet, and I spent another 3 hours in the bathroom. The broth was also undrinkable, diluted, tasteless, and the portion was like for an infant. Of course, the soups came out cold. The tartare for 50 PLN came without bread and sides, which is another failure. The waiter didn’t even bother to ask if everything was okay, and we had to go upstairs to pay ourselves. The final finesse was appropriating the change despite no agreement on such a resolution.
Let's start with the positives. The taste of the dishes is impeccable – the ingredients are fresh, and the compositions are interesting. It's evident that the kitchen focuses on creativity and high-quality products. Each dish is beautifully presented, almost like a small work of art. However, this is where the problem arises – style over substance. Although the dishes look impressive, they sometimes lack depth of flavor or simply a satisfying portion. One often gets the impression that more emphasis has been placed on the visual effect than on the actual enjoyment of the food.nnAnother issue is the prices. Yes, I expected it wouldn't be cheap, but the bill was definitely higher than suggested by the quality and quantity of the served dishes. This is a good place for those who appreciate fine cuisine and aesthetic presentation, but if you're looking for a filling meal at a reasonable price, you might feel disappointed. Will I come back? Probably not.
A pleasant, atmospheric place with an interesting kitchen, right by the Poznań market.nnThe dumplings are perfect; hats off to the lady who makes them. Perfect dough; it truly takes skill to make it right. Although they were served a bit too cold - they waited too long, which is an organizational detail. The grated cheese on them had already hardened. If it weren't for the temperature, they would definitely be the best dish.nnThe liver could have been cooked a little shorter (liver sometimes depends on seconds, not minutes ), but kudos for liver as an appetizer, very rarely found in restaurants, which is a shame. Really good appetizer. Simple, but on point.nnThe tartare was okay, the dressing made of grated orange peels was very interesting. Although it's one of those tartares that don’t leave a lasting impression. The absolute weakest point was the bread served with it - I don’t know who supplies it, but it was one of those dry, crumbly types that one buys in discount stores.nnAdditionally, several details worked negatively:nThe plate on which the liver was served was chipped (as seen in the photo, with a candle).nThe tonic was served immediately in a glass filled almost to the top (around 1cm from the top, as seen in the photo). It should have been served in the bottle, poured into the glass at the table, with the bottle left on the table; I won’t even mention the detail of turning the label towards the guest... ;)nAnd perhaps the worst: the wine glasses were not polished – there were water spots on them from the dishwasher. In a restaurant of this class, polishing glass should be standard, I think. Even a mediocre bar with beer polishes its glasses.nnAnd there was such a clash because those very details set apart a restaurant from an establishment pretending to a certain level. It’s not a very expensive restaurant, but still. Untapped potential.nnI’m not entirely sure if I would want to come back. This contrast of expectation - restaurant vs. reality - hit me a bit. Strong 4/5, but no more.nnIn the photos:nnTurkey liver flambéed in anise Ouzo, with a deep sauce from red blood oranges, served with seasonal salad leaves and young spinach.nnDumplings with delicate ricotta, goat cheese, young spinach leaves, Bursztyn cheese, and freshly grated nutmeg with aromatic burnt butter and fresh garden sage leaves.
My wife and I received a voucher for dinner in the old town at Bulwar restaurant. The food was delicious, very friendly service (Ms. Dominika :)), we will definitely come back here.
We randomly ended up at Bulwar with my friend, and we really had a very positive surprise! We were greeted by a very nice lady, who welcomed us with a smile along with our dog and the service was amazing. Inside, it is very elegant, clean, and bright, with quite a large garden outside. The atmosphere is almost like home, only the food is much better .nWe ordered salmon steaks with asparagus and salmon tartare, and had rosé wine to drink.nI confess that I haven’t been this delighted with the taste, presentation of the food, and the atmosphere of the place in a long time. I would give all the stars, and it’s a shame I can’t give more .
We accidentally found ourselves at Bulwar, but we do not regret it. The atmosphere of the place with a view of the Poznań goats is great. The dishes are excellent; taste and appearance all matched each other. Perfectly seasoned. The service was friendly. We will gladly return here and recommend this place to others.
We visited Bulwar with my husband after several years. The food was still delicious; we had the beef tartare, tomato soup, ribs, and stuffed cabbage, and everything tasted very good. An additional enormous plus for the service; Ms. Patrycja served us with full professionalism and sympathy. The whole experience made us definitely want to come back again.
