The place is very nice, the food is tasty, and the atmosphere is great, with good drinks. However, the service leaves much to be desired. One waitress was very polite, clearing unnecessary dishes from the table, but the rest of the staff didn't show any initiative; I had to ask for the empty plates to be taken away. We spent several hours here with a larger group and the situation remained the same throughout.
The food is delicious, not too spicy, and the drinks are great. The atmosphere feels like it's in a town hall cellar; however, I think the steep stairs might be a problem for some. Overall, it's a plus, and I think we'll visit again.
With each visit, the quality of the restaurant has declined. My visit today prompted me to leave a review. The salad with burrata was a total disappointment. As shown in the attached photo, besides the cheese, I received a minimal amount of bland vegetables without any flavor. Additionally, after noticing the lack of orange, which could add some character to the dish, the waiter went to consult with the manager. I received feedback that the main ingredient is supposedly in the dressing, which doesn't match the menu description. Oddly enough, the vinaigrette dressing also seemed to be missing. So, something clearly went wrong or the dish description needs to be updated in the menu.nIn summary, poor service, dishes other than pizza need improvement, which results in a lack of encouragement to return to this place.
I used to love this place, but now I feel it's not as good as before. The cellar atmosphere and sometimes lack of cell reception is a big plus because we are forced to put down our phones and focus on our companions. ;) The food, hm... is just okay, but the portions are unfortunately a bit small. This time, I ordered:n-onion soup - a bit like water with onions, it lacked spices, and I would definitely add more onions.n- seasonal burger with shrimp, tomato salsa, and mango - overall a nice combination of flavors for those who like light food without dominant flavors. The portion was just enough for a small appetite... The plate unfortunately looked quite lackluster. I think there's an option to order some potatoes. I didn't do that because usually the burger is enough for me, and I fill up quite well. Unfortunately, not this time.n- Italian meringue with ice cream - this is a must-try! Amazing, delicious, and sweet, balanced with the acidity of the fruits! I love it. nDesserts in the display unfortunately didn't look appetizing, and the price for half a jar of dessert (about 17 PLN) doesn’t motivate me to try it. :( Maybe aside from the cherry tart and Italian meringue - those looked good.nMy companions ordered:n-baked pasta with broccoli and chicken - the portion was unfortunately just like with the burger, for a small appetite. The pasta barely covered the whole bottom of the dish :(n- salami pizza - pizza, as pizza is always okay! nnTo drink: white mulled wine - it wasn't too sweet, standard, and good.nnOverall, the place is nice for meeting friends, but with those portions, it’s not necessarily for a big appetite.nnOh, and it's worth noting that despite the large crowd (the restaurant was nearly full), the dishes were served quickly! :)
The place builds certain expectations based on its prices, menu items, and Google reviews. The appearance of the food meets those expectations, and that's about it. Pasta with burnt chicken of strange consistency, flavorless pizza.nnThe potatoes with the burger gave the impression of being pulled out of the microwave; the only thing that makes sure they weren't is the leaking fat.nnHowever, I must admit that the burger with pulled chicken was quite decent.nnThe cleanliness level of the place could be described as unimpressive. It basically feels like a spot where people come to drink, rather than a decent restaurant.
The establishment hides its interior deep beneath the street surface.nVery nice, renovated interior.nHowever, maintenance is lacking, with dirty tables, sticky floors, and a toilet that was a complete mess, not to mention full garbage bins.nThere is also no properly functioning air conditioning downstairs, just fans that don’t do much, making it uncomfortable to sit in the heat.nIt was difficult to communicate with the staff in Polish, as they didn’t even understand gestures showing what I wanted to order from the menu.nI ordered a Napoli pizza for two and two Blonde drinks based on whiskey. The prices are quite reasonable compared to other places.nThe waiter brought the pizza without any plates, casually tossing it in front of us with one pair of cutlery and asked if we wanted any plates before disappearing and not coming back.nThe dough was somewhat bland, there weren't many ingredients, and the cheese seemed to completely overshadow the taste of everything else and had a strange rubbery consistency.nThe drinks were quite good, with a clear mango flavor and a noticeable hint of alcohol.nThere is a very strict policy at the establishment where due to a mix-up with the table number, you might not get your order, generally a very unprofessional rule for a restaurant where such matters should be handled by the waitstaff, not the potential customer.nIn summary, my visit to this place was one of those experiences I’d like to forget.
The food is delicious, and the prices compared to those nearby in the square are also great! ;) For lunch with sides and drinks for me and my girl, I paid just under 140 PLN which is an absurdly low price for a meal! ;) So both my girl and I recommend it because it’s a lovely experience, though ordering by table number and having only one toilet are minor drawbacks.
I recommend this Bar a Boo location as well. The restaurant is in a charming cellar, with great pizza and pasta, good drinks; ideal for a meetup with a larger group. The only downside is that the service seems somewhat inexperienced, more like food runners than proper waitstaff.
As always, the food is delicious; we go once a week. The only downside is the long lines for a table, but the staff quickly try to clean up and seat guests.
As always, very good food and drinks. Everything came to the table quickly, the pizza was hot, the gnocchi tasty, the mulled beer at a good price. All in stylish cellars near the Old Market.
