My gastronomic discovery of 2024 is the sajgonki in Balans! They serve them with stir fry vegetables, chili, coriander and vegan spicy sauce.nIt is really the best sajgonki I have ever eaten – perfectly crispy, not greasy, with a delicious filling. Flinston declared that he will come back for the sajgonki – he will order 3 portions and yuzu lemonade.nI was very positively surprised when Flinston said that the food in this place was great – I remind you that Flinston is a lover of schab and pierogi.nToday's outing also convinced Flinston to ramen. It's honey on my heart! Ramen Bamen came in like gold.nThe cherry on top was Vietnamese coffee. Flinston initially demanded sugar, but eventually he gave in to me and drank it without any sweetener. He said that from today we will make it at home, because it's a real treat.nIn summary, thanks to Balans Flinston tasted Asian cuisine and opened up to new flavors, and I gained a companion in discovering new dishes of this cuisine.nnP.S. The second visit within 2 weeks is due to tteokbokki with pumpkin alfredo sauce, which I dreamed about at night.
We all realized that we were hungry and some appetizer had to come in. Having learned from our experience, we ordered 1 shrimp in panko (there is also an option in tempura, but the waitress without hesitation recommended panko). To it was served with sriracha mayo sauce. What to say, these 5 shrimps disappeared in a moment. Fortunately, when it comes to appetizers, we were done with it, because the main dishes were waiting for us.nTteokbokki with pumpkin alfredo sauce were so delicious that it should be illegal. Delicate rice dumplings surrounded by a delicate, creamy and at the same time expressive sauce. A dish in which the word monotony has no reason to exist. Every bite was different, and that thanks to unusual additions: miso, hazelnuts in soy-caramel sauce, Thai chimichurri, crispy chilli oil and togarashi. Real comfort food. ❤️ Wujcio Wariatuńcio as a glutton decided on Bamen ramen. It was hard, but he ate the whole portion and declared that it was the best ramen he had ever eaten - and he had eaten not one but many gara ramen the whole bowl made an impression: kamo paitan broth, miso tare walnut-sesame with spicy aromas, chilli oil, crispy chicken meat in panko, spicy meat soboro, pickled egg, pak choi, mung bean sprouts, oshínko, red onion, nuts, sesame, and Wujcio also added bacon.nWe left, or rather we staggered off in a great mood and with stomachs full of delicious food.nP.S. Balans is very dog-friendly. So you can safely bring your four-legged friends there. Czarna mamba was delighted that she finally went to the pub
Oh, what a delicious food!nEverything tasted great, and each of the 4 people ordered something different. I really had a great time nThe dishes are so beautifully served that you might think it's another restaurant 'form over substance', but it's not!nThe flavors are unique and everything fits together.nI highly recommend nThe garden is very pleasant.nnMy only reservation is the atmosphere. I love Asian food, and I would never have thought to go there because the place doesn't have an Asian atmosphere at all (I came on the advice of a friend). However, it's a matter of taste, so I still highly recommend it
This was my first visit to Balans and at the same time my first time with bao buns. I am pleasantly surprised. We managed to sit in something like a patio, in the back of the restaurant, which was pleasantly heated by a wood-burning stove. We will definitely come back here.
Looking at the popularity of this place, I really wanted to come here.nLet's start with the positives: the appetizer, as wontons, were super tasty, a perfect combination of flavors with the sauce served. The service was nice and helpful.nThe pad thai was just okay, very basic.nThe worst surprise was the bamen - so salty that it was inedible, and according to us, it looked very unappetizing.nAfter one visit, I know that I won't be coming back.
Amazing Asian food. Everything is delicious - from crispy spring rolls to main courses. The baos are soft and fluffy, and filled with a tasty combination of different flavors and fresh ingredients. The pad thai is very good, the portion is generous, full of flavor. Everything is served on nice plates. Inside, the decor is nice, in the back, there is quite a bit of space, which is tastefully decorated.
Good food, pleasant atmosphere.nIn the photo: Pad Thai with Tofu, Bao with shrimp and Bamen
Delicious Asian cuisine! We ordered two soups, which were served in ceramic bowls, probably made to order. Each of them was delicious and was enough for a full lunch, tom yum full of vegetables and shrimps - delicious and not dried. Ramen with wontons was also good! As a starter, we ordered vegetables spring rolls - they tasted more like baked, they were crispy but not greasy, so even better! A small minus for the atmosphere, there were not many people in the restaurant, but couriers kept coming in every now and then, apparently they were fulfilling a lot of take-out orders. The waiter was smiling and friendly, there is a covered veranda behind him, a nice place for a separate meeting for a dozen or so people. I will come back to test the bao buns!
Delicious bao with beef and bao with chicken. Also, yuzu tea. Very friendly service. The only minus is the high traffic at our table - we didn't have a reservation and a free table was only in the first room. It's better to make a reservation.
+ nice bao, if we come back, it's for them (with beef and chicken),n+ quite ok mango-watermelon lemonade,n+ quite a nice vibe, very nice place and garden,nn- no music in the garden,n- udon with duck - bravo for the delicious duck, but otherwise unfortunately mediocre udon noodles are not made on the spot, a lot of sprouts and nuts, not enough vegetables. I also got a squeezed piece of lemon.n- service - I didn't ask for an extra piece of lemon, because the lady didn't appear in the garden. She didn't ask if it's ok or if something is missing. When ordering we asked about one thing we wanted to exchange, but she couldn't offer anything. I know gastro and I try not to judge the waiters, this lady didn't make a bad impression, but it could also be that she didn't have anything for the guest,n- prices quite high for these portions.
